Theses drawings were a submission for the ‘Instructional Constructions’ drawing techniques paper. The brief explored the site of the St. James Theatre in the Auckland CBD, and required the production of an object or space with a corresponding set of assembly drawings. I responded to the brief through the making of a gas fire lamp, a theatrical and evocative light source, befitting for such a treasured theater. These would sit as beacons to welcome and usher guests inward, if the space ever sees a revival from the peril of it’s current state.
